A quick refresher of Pt. 1
Why can’t I just save this picture?
Let’s say you made an image of a donut, that became popular and was spread all over the Internet. You want everyone to know that you are the creator, how can you prove it now?
Ok, this was a real problem before - anyone could save the picture and there was no difference between the copy and the original. There was no evidence that you are the creator.
But NFT fixed everything.
We can attach NFT to any digital product, and the token will contain all the info about it - who is the owner and even what operations were carried out.
Moreover, everybody can see this information. And, as mentioned in the first part, you don’t know which computer the data is stored on, so the possibility of it being erased is close to zero.
So, what about copying?
The more your image is copied, distributed - the bigger profit you acquire.
For example, La Gioconda. You can hang a reproduction on the wall or download 4k wallpaper - this will only enlarge it’s value.
When we create a unique NFT, we secure our ownership on it. And, as the picture is being copied and distributed, original’s value only grows. More and more people will find out about your work and it’s cultural value will be getting only bigger.
People, going to Louvre, know, that Gioconda displayed there is the original one. In the universe of NFT blockchain is the Louvre. The value of work is determined by the cultural context around it. Blockchain is the thing, that fixes it’s value and the ownership, as it allows you to prove and authorize anything.
But how will people understand I am the owner?
Companies hop on the trend and Twitter being one of them is now launching NFT avatars - every user will be able to display the tokens, they own, right in their profile picture. Isn’t that cool?
It’s all a little weird, isn’t it?
Indeed, all this seems very unusual, cause we are used to copying digital assets freely. However, the next generation, born with a phone in their hands won’t probably have a strict pattern of digital being digital and physical being physical - they will absolutely understand the value of intangible.
But what does Hodlers.pro give you in this market? We provide you with an agregator, that has: community based ratings, easy navigation, convenient project sorting, a Twitter, full of useful information and a Discord server with even more useful features. Worth paying attention, I suppose 🙂
