That is quite a controversial title for an article, but we are here to bring you some statements that will almost certainly prove this point and make you agree. So, let’s jump straight to it.
Language
Since the 8th of July Flow is getting rid of Dapper Labs expertise on smart contracts and will make its Cadence language truly decentralised and very multifunctional.
Why would I choose Cadence over the so much more popular Solidity, you would ask?
Well…
Resource-Oriented
Resource-Oriented programming is a whole new type of coding that was created by the Flow team and introduced with Cadence. The paradigm unites all of the best by Swift, Kotlin and Rust as well as implementing a lot of new dev tools from regular programming languages. The ones interested can take a closer look here.
User-Oriented
Custody allows you to hide the blockchain inside non-decentralised financial applications. That means your Web 2.0 can have hooks to blockchain, that can help the inexperienced users orientate in your project much easier with no need to go through all the basic steps of an NFT rookie such as googling what is a crypto wallet and how to buy crypto currency (We’ve all been there, haven’t we?). A great example here would be NBA top-shots, who connected a regular credit card directly to a private crypto wallet and let the users buy NFTs with basically fiat.
Silicon valley guys know what they’re doing
We all know NFT depends much on marketing, so creating your project on a platform, founded by a team from the world-famous Silicon valley could allow you to have much help from the professionals without having to hire them. Unless your project isn’t just some scam or copycat and as long as it has a unique idea, Flow will assist you with all the promotion. Flow were the ones who started the breed-able NFT hype and having those guys by your would definitely be a win.
Considering the Dapper Labs cancellation and the amount of investments being made into Flow right now, we can all be waiting for a strong competitor not only to Solana or Wax, but also to Ethereum in terms of NFT. Hope to see the results soon.
